Piercing The Veil
Piercing the Veil is about the Spirit's coming and going between the material and ethereal realms. Skeletal forms and pieces of clothing represent what remains of the soul’s sojourn here on earth. The leaves, plants, snow and other natural elements that are renewed by the seasons mirror the soul’s experience of rebirth. Birds—and ravens especially-- have long been symbols of the supernatural link between heaven and earth. Even the paper has gone through a burial in the ground. After nature has left its mark, the paper is removed from its temporary grave and the images are
drawn or redrawn on it.
